Rules and Such

How to Play

The Cooler Shoot® is a simple game that can be played just about anywhere. The object of the game is to score the most points during your turn. The game is played until 21 points are scored. First team or individual to 21 is the winner. The set is the best 2 out of 3 games. That's it in a nutshell.  Have a great time and we hope you enjoy this fun and exciting challenge.

How to Start

Insert the Cooler Shoot Towers securely in their bases.

Fill the Cooler Shoot Towers with your favorite cold canned beverages. Place the Cooler Shoot Towers approximately 15 to 18 feet apart from each other depending on your skill level.
( note: the farther apart the more challenging the game becomes. )

How Do You Score

Each team or person gets 5 flying ringers.

  • Place an empty can (or something non-breakable like a plastic cup) on top of the Cooler Shoot Tower.  This is called your 'target'.
    • Hitting the tube or cooler is one point
    • Knocking off the target is three points
    • A ringer around the tube is automatic winner  (hint: knocking off the target makes the ringer easier.)

What Other Rules are There

  • You only get one can knock-off per throw. If the target  is knocked off, leave it off until you finish throwing your rings and replace it when the next player begins to throw their rings.
  • Games are played to 21 points, first team to 21 wins game.
  • Losers get the advantage of throwing first on next game.
  • A set consists of 3 games. Best 2 out of 3 wins set.
  • You must stand behind the front of the base.  No crossing the imaginary line.

Other Games

Another fun and challenging game is the Ringer Game. Place the two Towers about 6 paces apart. Leave the target off of the top. Determine who goes first. The game is played by throwing the rings at the Towers until someone makes a ringer. The challenger gets a chance to make a ringer if their opponent makes a ringer. If a ringer is made then that game becomes a draw. Games are best 2 out of 3.

Do I get a chance to win when my opponent reaches 21?  NO.  First to 21 wins.

However, there we have played with a rebuttal rule.  If the opponent reaches 21 after their throw, then there is a Shoot Off.  Pick your best Shooters and throw a sequence.  Best Score Wins!
